Full use of armory items

Make sure you have a full set of Gold armory items equipped. If a full set will give you lower stats, then just make sure it's equipped whenever a building/research/training run is going to finish. It gives you bonus respect even though it says it only boosts combat respect. Oh, and it boosts the exchange respect too. If you didn't know, now you know. And knowing is half the battle!

Oh, and it also boosts the respect from a unit bundle too. So always open a unit bundle in the hood with the highest level gold set then send them to another hood if you want them somewhere else.
